Wouldn't it be nice to de-clutter your home and help the less fortunate by finding homes for clothes, gadgets, and other household items?
Here are tips to help your house easily "shed" extra pounds in a community-friendly way:
- Freecycle is a community based online listing for re-cycling home goods for free.
- Goodwill uses sales from donations to provide jobs and education to people with disabilities.
- Habitat for Humanity ReStore (listings in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, ) welcomes furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances and re-sells them at a fraction of the cost to fund community construction.
- Impact Thrift Stores (www.ImpactThrift.org) has stores in Hatboro, Montgomeryville and Norristown Pennsylvania. They donate all proceeds to local charities, and provides jobs to those who need them. Impact will come and pick-up larger furniture items. You can also drop off household items and furniture in person.
