OCTOBER 2012: The 2012 Design Home was the third year in a row that featured Closet City as a sponsor of this tremendous fund raiser (now in its 11th year). The interior of this Newtown Square, PA home was fantastic! Our portion of this well-appointed home included two beautiful master walk-in closets, as well as organizers in the smaller childrens' rooms and utility closets.
We featured two brand-new melamine finishes in the master walk-in closets . . . hers was constructed in a delicious "White Chocolate" finish, while his walk in featured a decatant "Hot Cinnamon" wood grain. Both walk ins offered ample storage for the future homeowners, as well as showcased a variety of the latest handy organizing gadgets and accessories.
Each closet featured a variety of storage options and organizing "gadgets", such as a pivoting, full-length mirror, hamper baskets, jewelry drawer insert, a Rev-A-Shelf "Shoe Zen", and folding ironing board that fits into a drawer!
You can see all of the various sponsors' involvement in the home, and tour it room by room via this link to Philadelphia magazine's "Virtual Tour". The 2012 Design Home was exciting to visit as it featured so much new technology, beautiful room treatments, and incredible landscaping. And the best part was that 100% of the ticket proceeds went to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House! (For example, the 2011 home had 4000 visitors, and over $70,000 was raised.)
FEBRUARY 2012: Closet City was awarded "2012 Contractor of the Year" by the BucksMont chapter of NARI
(National Association of the Remodeling Industry) -- our third year in a row to win this award! Presented in January 2012
to Closet City's design consultant and space planner, Janet Stevenson, the award was for the home office portion of a
massive "Gentleman's Library" remodeling project.
Closet City was again one of the proud sponsors of Philadelphia magazine's Design Home, and was honored to be the exclusive closet and storage professional for this fund-raising project the 2nd year in a row. Proceeds from tour ticket sales benefited the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, and tours ran mid-September thru mid-October. There were a total of 6 bedroom closets that Closet City outfitted in this Haverford home, as well as a mudroom closet. A special "Double Space" bed & desk combo unit was custom built for this Design Home and showcased in the upper floor sleep/playroom.
Photos of a few of our installations are provided here. For more details about the annual Design Home project, its sponsors, and its benefactors, visit this link.

OCTOBER 2010: Closet City was one of the proud sponsors of Philadelphia magazine's Design Home 2010 in Gwynedd Valley. We were honored to be the exclusive closet and storage professional for this fund-raising Design Home -- responsible for outfitting the kitchen pantry and all of the home's closets, including two large master walk-ins. Showcasing all the splendor imaginable in a walk-in, such as crown molding and cabinetry, these closets also featured decorative hardware from Top Knobs, as well as several innovative organizational accessories from Rev-A-Shelf -- small samplings of the high-quality accessory items we offer that will surely be "must have's" in your own home.
A special detailed section about the design home was featured in Philadelphia magazine's September 2010 issue, and the photos were spectacular! In addition to Closet and Fence City, many other local businesses showed off their handiwork in this magnificent home -- everything from interior design, millwork, and landscaping to tile, lighting, stone work, and so much more. It truly was a showcase of fine craftsmanship and luxury! If you were not able to physically visit the home while it was open for public tours, you can still take a look at this fantastic project via Philadelphia magazine's Virtual Design Home via this link: www.phillymag.com/design_home/2010/home.html
Tours proceeds from ticket sales benefited the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home away from home for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving care at local Philadelphia hospitals. JUNE 2010: Closet City's general manager, Eric Wheary, was featured in a garage organization article in House & Home magazine: Modernize your garage to obtain a streamlined, stylish space.
An excerpt from that story:
"Closet City offers epoxy flooring in all types of designs and color combinations, and can replicate most national logos and emblems," says Wheary. Garage organization is becoming more of an extension of the home, as after installation of cabinets and new flooring, many homeowners today are using the warm space to host parties or work from home.
More recently, the trend is to design garage spaces around a theme, hobby, or even a custom logo. Whether it's a car buff who wants the entire garage turned into a custom mechanical workshop, or a gardening enthusiast who wants a workspace and storage to accommodate a green thumb, themes are becoming quite popular. "Picture a motorcycle fan who wants his bike's emblem on the floor and surrounding cabinetry and storage items in coordinating colors," says Wheary. "An entire custom package can be put together to coordinate with the flooring and complete the theme."
Want to get organized, but don't know where to begin? The first thing to do is come up with an overall plan. Your wants and needs will affect the overall goals and budget for organizing the garage. (Then, give Closet City a call!) For more info about what Closet City can do for your garage, click here.

MARCH 2010: Closet City was awarded "2010 Contractor of the Year" by the BucksMont chapter of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry). The award was presented in January 2010 to Closet City's design consultant & space planner, Janet Stevenson, for a combination walk-in closet and home office project she orchestrated for a client in Mount Airy, PA. In February, the same walk-in closet / home office project also earned Janet Stevenson honorable mentions in the Top Shelf Design Awards sponsored by CLOSETS magazine.
