The Closet City Space-Planning Process
Closet City provides custom space-planning solutions for residents of southern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and occasionally lower New York and northern Delaware. We can also recommend an installer in your area who utilizes our products. Projects range from custom designed closet systems to wood cabinetry for walk-in closets. They also include storage solutions for any room in the house including home offices and garages. Close City offers “green” product solutions that can be important for small spaces. We do a lot more than just closets!
Step #1: Planning your space
Our professional, home organization designer will meet with you at your home to evaluate your personal needs. She has many years of space-planning experience. And, she will consult with you about your tastes and concerns, creating your “wish list” for that space. Detailed measurements are taken of the area of interest. We also jot down a detailed list of what is currently found in that space (or what you hope to store there from this time forward). We do this so that a storage design can be individually personalized for you. Our designer is also an expert in “downsizing”. We have worked with hundreds of clients moving to a smaller retirement home that must make every inch count. This is why we are the exclusive closet and storage solution company for many of the retirement communities in the tri-state area. (PA / NJ / DE)
Step #2: Choose a design
You will be presented with one or more custom design solutions for your needs. Our designer will discuss in detail the reasoning behind the design and how it was created to help your area function more efficiently for you. After you review the proposed designs, our designer will gladly make any changes or revisions that you discuss together. Each project is a work in progress until you are satisfied that you have the best plan for your area!
After the design is chosen, you and the designer will work to make sure that the choices of material fabrication suit you. (You can choose from laminate, pre-finished woods, and paintable products). Once the plan is completed and installation methods have been explained and agreed upon, our designer will make sure that any extras you might want have been included in your design. (These could be tie racks, belt racks, telescoping valets, or any of our numerous accessory items).
Step #3: Fabrication
Your approved design is then custom crafted to the highest of standards with our state-of-the-art CNC machinery. Your design is captured in a computer file that is sent directly to our machinery to ensure that the utmost accuracy is achieved. If your project requires it, this is when custom finishing is applied.
Step #4: Installation
On the day of installation, our crew arrives prepared to install your new system. They protect your home by laying drop cloths in their travel lanes and work areas. The area is prepped for your new organization system. Your storage system is carefully hand carried to the work area. And then it is installed with the utmost care and concern for your home and possessions. Furthermore, if any modifications or trim work are required, our trucks are fully equipped with the tools to handle virtually any situation.
Our installers then meticulously clean everything they have installed. And since our crews are equipped with hypo-allergenic vacuums, they make sure to capture any dust that might be created during installation by thoroughly vacuuming the work area. Most of our installations are completed on the same day unless otherwise discussed and arranged. You can visit our “Professional Installation” page for more information regarding our crew’s skills and qualifications.
